Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 2, 2026

1. Overview & Scope

UpskillPM (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides an educational platform for practising product management interviews. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, and the choices and rights you have.

This policy applies to the UpskillPM website and mobile applications (together, the “Services”). It applies to everyone who uses the Services, whether or not you hold an account. By using the Services, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here.

The Services are provided for educational and self-study purposes only. We provide practice questions, model answers, and automated feedback to help you prepare. We are not an employment agency, a recruitment service, or a provider of professional, legal, or career advice, and we do not guarantee any interview, hiring, or employment outcome.

2. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and any name you choose to provide. Accounts are secured by email verification. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, we receive your email address and basic profile information from that provider.

Voice recordings and transcripts. The core feature of the Services is spoken practice. When you record an answer, we collect the audio recording you submit and the text transcript generated from it. Audio is captured only while you actively hold the record control, and microphone access requires your explicit permission through your device or browser. You are never required to record — you may read questions and study model answers without using the microphone.

Practice and performance data. We store the questions you attempt, your transcripts, your AI-generated score and score breakdown, written feedback, your target company selections, and your progress over time so you can review your history.

Uploaded study material. If you use the Knowledge Base, we store the documents you upload, together with the title, description, and any summary or extracted questions generated from them. Uploaded documents are stored privately and are accessible only through your account.

Payment information. Paid subscriptions are processed by our third-party payment provider. Your card and billing details are entered directly with that provider. We do not receive or store your full card number. We do receive confirmation of your subscription status, plan, and a transaction reference so we can unlock paid features.

Usage and device data. We collect information about how the Services are used, such as pages and features viewed, session activity, approximate region derived from IP address, browser and device type, and operating system. This helps us diagnose problems and improve the product.

Communications. If you contact us, or opt in to email updates, we keep your email address and the content of those messages.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  • create and secure your account, and verify your email address;
  • deliver the practice experience — presenting questions, recording your answers, producing transcripts, and storing your results;
  • generate automated scores, feedback, and improvement suggestions;
  • process subscriptions, unlock paid features, and maintain billing records;
  • send service messages such as verification codes, password resets, and results emails you have requested;
  • send promotional or educational emails where you have opted in, which you can opt out of at any time;
  • analyse usage in aggregate to understand which features help learners and to improve the Services;
  • detect, prevent, and address misuse, abuse, security incidents, and technical faults; and
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not use your voice recordings or transcripts to train general-purpose AI models, and we do not sell your personal information.

4. Automated AI Scoring

Your transcripts are sent to third-party AI service providers so that an automated assessment can be generated. Those providers process the content on our behalf and are contractually restricted from using it for their own purposes.

The resulting score and feedback are generated automatically by software. They are an educational aid offered for your own practice and reflection. They are not a professional evaluation of your ability, they are not shared with employers, and they are not used to make decisions about your access to the Services. You can request that we not process a particular recording by choosing not to submit it, and you can ask us to delete your practice history at any time as described in section 10.

5. Legal Bases for Processing

Where data protection law requires us to identify a legal basis, we rely on the following:

  • Performance of a contract — to provide the Services you have asked for, including practice sessions and paid subscriptions.
  • Consent — for microphone access, for optional promotional emails, and for non-essential cookies where consent is required. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legitimate interests — to secure the Services, prevent abuse, and improve our product, balanced against your rights.
  • Legal obligation — to keep records we are required to keep, such as billing and tax records.

6. How We Share Information

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share it only in the limited circumstances below.

Service providers. We use trusted third parties who process information on our behalf, including providers of cloud hosting and storage, AI language and transcription services, payment processing, email delivery, and product analytics. They may access personal information only as needed to perform their services for us and are bound by contractual confidentiality and data protection obligations.

Legal and safety. We may disclose information where required by law, such as in response to valid legal process, or where necessary to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users, the public, or ourselves.

Business changes. If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will post notice of any such change and any resulting change to this policy.

With your direction. We may share information when you specifically ask us to.

7. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Services are used. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings, though blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in.

We also use third-party analytics and advertising measurement tools. In particular, we use Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our advertising leads to sign-ups and subscriptions. This may involve sharing limited technical and event information with those providers. You can limit personalised advertising through your Google Ads settings and your device’s advertising identifier settings.

8. Data Retention

We keep personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy. Account information is retained while your account is active. Practice data — recordings, transcripts, scores, and feedback — is retained so that your progress history remains available to you, or until you ask us to delete it.

Billing and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable tax and accounting law. When information is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it. Residual copies may persist briefly in backups before being overwritten on our normal backup cycle.

9. Security and International Transfers

We use industry-standard safeguards to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, encrypted storage, access controls, and restricting internal access to those who need it to operate the Services. Audio recordings and uploaded documents are stored in private storage and are accessible only through your own account.

No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, please contact us immediately.

Our service providers may store and process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we take steps to ensure it remains protected in accordance with this policy and applicable law, using recognised safeguards such as standard contractual clauses where required.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access — to receive a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — to have inaccurate information corrected. You can update your account details in Settings at any time.
  • Deletion — to ask us to delete your account and associated personal information, including recordings and transcripts.
  • Portability — to receive certain information in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Objection and restriction — to object to or ask us to limit certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdrawal of consent — where we rely on consent, to withdraw it at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not deny you the Services or provide a lesser experience because you exercised a privacy right.

You may also opt out of promotional emails using the unsubscribe link in any such email, or by adjusting your preferences in Settings.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at connect@dillseattle.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law, and we may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.

11. Children and Students

The Services are designed for adults preparing for professional interviews. They are not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or under 16 where required by local law).

If you are a parent or guardian and believe that a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

12. Educational Use and Academic Integrity

The Services are provided as a personal study aid. Questions, model answers, frameworks, and AI feedback are original or licensed educational content intended to help you practise and prepare.

You agree to use the Services for lawful, personal, and educational purposes. You may not reproduce, resell, or redistribute our content as your own, use the Services to misrepresent your abilities or experience to an employer, or use them in any way that breaches academic integrity or the rules of an educational institution or assessment.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes we will post the revised policy on this page and update the effective date above, and where appropriate we will notify you by email or in-app notice.

Your continued use of the Services after a revised policy takes effect indicates your acceptance of the changes.

14. Contact Us

If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or the way we handle your personal information, please contact us at connect@dillseattle.com.

By using UpskillPM, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy.
